The Moorebank Intermodal stands dually today as:
1: An Economic Fraud on the Australian Taxpayer initiated by the political activist behaviour of our Prime Minister, Albanese MP.
There are Billions of Taxpayer Dollars to be expended in “Making It Happen”; the process played out through its Planning Approvals, including Court procedures. It was Command from the Top… with the Top(s) corrupted in the Process, in the dark of the its objective failure.
2: A Planning Perversion where the damage extends far beyond the Moorebank Site, with the budgeted 15,000 daily truck trips squeezing in and out of low-laying river basin lands of East Liverpool (Moorebank, Holsworthy, Hammondville, Voyager Point, Sandy Point and Chipping Norton). Noise, Emissions, River Bound Lands and Bridge Reliant Roads and dirty air Congestion. And the loss of 100+ hectares of Cumberland Plain Bushland.
How has this happened? Strong Money – Weak Politicians who have failed us, through an exercise of “Making it Happen” by highly paid Public Servants, Lawyers and Courts. There is a factual trail of it all.
The STRONG MONEY bought influence with the Howard Liberal National Party (LNP) Governments in the late 1990s and early 2000s, up to 2007 when the Rudd ALP Government was elected.
It was reported that Corrigan flew in his helicopter over Moorebank in the early 2000s and saw a huge expanse of Commonwealth/Military lands located within a few hundred metres from the M5 Tollway that connects Sydney’s south west to Sydney via the Port Botany shore roads. Over the next 5+ years his interests Sought&Got ownership of the 83 hectare military warehouse site, to be known as Moorebank Precinct East.
Standing between MPE and the then newly planned and under construction Port Botany Rail Link, was 220 hectares of Military Lands on the western side of Moorebank Avenue and on the eastern side of the beautiful Georges River: now known as Moorebank Precicnt West (MPW).
Infrastructure Minister Albanese in the new Rudd Government, 2007, stepped in with his own Development, MPW,.
Albanese’s MPW just happened to stand in the way of Corrigan’s access to the purpose built Freight Line to Port Botany.
This sealed the destruction of 220 hectares of beautiful Georges River side lands… for almost all Trees to be destroyed, and 3 metres of clay earth to be laid across it to raise the flood level lands.
This political bastardy saw Corrigan-Qube gain sympathy from the new LNP Government of 2013 and be awarded a Deal where Qube took Development Control over these 220 hectare lands. Lands on which we Taxpayers saw our taxpayer funds of $1.4+ Billion expended to make them available, by moving out the established Army resources to nearby Holsworthy Barracks.
Qube later on-sold development rights ( MPW and MPE) for $1.67 billion to other entities – Logos Property.. (later on to ESR Group)…..

As part of this transaction, MIC and Qube have also resolved all outstanding claims and disputes.”

By any measure it is Bloody Shameful.. The perversity is that Albanese, in the absence of any publicly released Business Case, must have relied on Corrigan’s analysis. Surely NOT…. I hope he can advise otherwise, but we did search earnestly.
